This Canadian Columbine, Aquilegia canadensis, grows among the rocky granite shores of Georgian Bay. I was drawn to the contrast between its delicate red and yellow flowers and the rugged landscape in which it thrives. Painted during my 2026 internship with the Georgian Bay Biosphere, it became a portrait of both fragility and resilience.
